Strange how things seem to crawl along until a deadline approaches! The first of our two opening events rushes towards us...
Saturday 20th. May
2.00. - 4.00 pm
is the launch of our first major project: the Needham and Brockdish Heritage Project.
We welcome any current or former residents of either village who have documents or stories about our villages' past they are willing to share. Thanks to the generosity of local residents we have already acquired a significant collection of documents but we're sure there are many more, as well as plenty of tales to tell. If you don't wish to leave documents with us on the day, we can easily make a date to scan your material digitally, so that they can be made available for others to see - both now and in the future. If you would like your reminiscences recorded, you can make an appointment to have an on-the-record chat with one of our volunteers. Recordings will be included in the archive and probably edited for use on this website. There will, of course be refreshments available. Stephen Poulter, the project's director, will give a free talk on "Being a House Detective" at 3.00 pm.
Date for your diary: Saturday 23rd June: Grand Official Opening of the Waveney Heritage Centre by the Bishop of Norwich.
